Introduction
This disorder is named after Edward Alfred Cockayne, who was a London physician whose concentration was on hereditary disorders in children.
Its also known as
Weber-Cockayne syndrome,
Neill-Dingwall syndrome,
CS,
Dwarfism-retinal atrophy-deafness syndrome,
Progeria-Like Syndrome,
or progoroid nanism.
And Cockayne syndrome has been recognized as an inherited disease since 1946.
